Quick Adobo Street Connection Update for today

The Mixtape Meeting will be held 5:00pm at the UOP Library in Room 8.

For you Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum owners

As you can see above, you can go to Toys “R” Us stores from November 7th to 15th to get the Pokemon Arceus in your Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum games. For those that don’t know, Arceus is the final Pokemon that is un-obtainable legally in the US… until November that is. It’s supposed to be the most powerful Pokemon ever, so make sure you go and get it!

Check out RyVal!

Check out one of my members of my group: Adobo Street Connection. It's his original song he's doing live at a benefit show that was on just recently.

The MixTape Meeting Coming Up

Oct 22, 2009 I'll be conducting a meeting at UOP Library in Stockton, Ca at 5pm. Bring friends if you'd like! I have a small discussion on getting Gabe Bondoc and Leejay to my show. I have there contract ready and everything. I just need help raising money. Also, there's more info to the dance competition as well. Hope you can come!

Message me for more details. The meeting will take about an hour. Feel free to bring snacks. Someone already asked to bring cupcakes. MmMm....

I was bored. Sent my team into the forums.

I'm new to this generation of Pokémon, so I wanted an opinion on the first team I made at Lv.50. I mainly use them for Battle Tower Rules and against local friends. I only have Pokémon Platinum and Pearl. Since I have Garchomp and Heracross, I assume my tier would be Overused. The team has performed extremely well against my friends and pretty well in Battle Frontier. But I've been trying to get the Great Ability Ribbon and World Ability Ribbon for a little while now and I'm starting to get frustrated.

I know these are almost standard sets, so what can I do to improve or what/who should I consider replacing (please leave explanation)? I also have no idea how to calculate EVs, so I'll try to be as detailed as possible (newb status, i know. Sorry). My three mains for Battle Tower are Garchomp, Gardevoir, Milotic, and then my Heracross would be next in line. Any constructive criticism would be helpful and greatly considered. Thanks!

Garchomp Lv.50 @ Life Orb

Nature: Adamant
Ability: Sand Veil

Sp. Atk--90
Sp. Def-106

Dragon Claw
Fire Fang
Sword Dance

I intended Garchomp to be a Physical Sweeper. I usually start off with Sword Dance, depending if my opponent isn't capable of using Ice attacks. When I know that I can get away with two or three Sword Dances without taking major damage, I'd typically go for it which leads to Garchomp taking out most Pokémon in one hit. If I do see an Ice/Water Pokémon, I typically switch out knowing Garchomp has x4 Weakness to Ice. I use Life Orb to boost his Attack stats as well. He's usually my first in battles. I don't have a problem with this tough guy.

Gardevoir Lv.50 @ Lum Berry

Nature: Calm
Ability: Trace

Sp. Atk-155
Sp. Def-156

Calm Mind

I intended Gardevoir to by a Special Sweeper. I personally think Gardevoir's stats were great for being UU. I always try to go for the Calm Mind as the first move. I picked Thunderbolt because I've found it a very useful in my experience for those resistant to Psychic. If I'm low on HP and I haven't used Lum Berry yet, it works as a great combo with Rest. Since after it sleeps to restore health with Rest, the Lum Berry wakes Gardevoir up to go straight back into battle with full health. I was lucky enough to transfer this baby from my Emerald. Sentimental value.

Skarmory Lv.50 @ Shed Shell

Nature: Impish
Ability: Sturdy

Sp. Atk--52
Sp. Def--82

Aerial Ace

I intended Skarmory to by my Tank and Spiker. Since my Milotic is holding Leftovers for Battle Tower, I gave Skarmory Shed Shell to help recover from damage. I tried out this move set and liked it a lot. I'll throw out as many Spikes possible, than Roar almost every turn. Obviously, use Roost when I’m low on HP and Aerial Ace to attack. Aerial Ace NEVER misses! This is great especially when the opponent has used up Double Team to its max. This gives me a reason to laugh in their face thinking they could get away with high evasiveness. Only thing I dislike about Skarmory is that when it's down to the last Pokémon on each side with Skarmory as my last result, Roar/Spikes becomes useless.

Heracross Lv.50 @ Choice Band

Nature: Adamant
Ability: Guts

Sp. Atk--51
Sp. Def-116

Stone Edge
Take Down
Brick Break

I intended Heracross to be a Physical Sweeper. Heracross was my main Physical Sweeper until I gave birth to Garchomp. Reason it's still one of my favorites is because it can take out almost every Pokémon in one hit. It's has THE HIGHEST attack points out of all the Lv.50 Pokémon I have for Battle Tower. With Choice Band, it makes Heracross even more devastating. Earthquake is extremely well rounded and Stone Edge is for the flying Pokémon. I usually switch out Heracross when I see a Flying Pokémon anyway with x4 Weakness to Flying attacks. Downfall I hate most about Heracross is with Choice Band I'm stuck with that one attack until I switch out. It gets annoying when my opponent switches to Bronzong and I previously used Earthquake. *shakes fist in the air* Like my Gardevoir, I was also lucky enough to transfer this guy from my Emerald.

Milotic Lv.50 @ Leftovers

Nature: Bold
Ability: Marvel Scale

Sp Atk---117
Sp Def---150

Ice Beam

I intended Milotic to be a Tank. I honestly didn't know what the commotion was all about until I got my hands on a Feebas and evolved it to Milotic. OMG! This baby can take hits. Even against some Electric attacks, Milotic will still be standing (or slithering? haha). Skarmory was my old tank until I made Milotic. She's one of my mains now because she's a great tank that has a great offense stragety. I use Toxic and stall with Recover. Surf and Ice Beam are universal attacks that do decent damage to major damage regardless of type. Also, Milotic is great against Dragon types. I can’t find too many flaws for this beauty.

Azelf Lv.50 @ Choice Scarf

Nature: Jolly
Ability: Levitate

Sp Atk--125
Sp Def---88

Zen Headbutt
Fire Punch

I intended Azelf to be a Physical Sweeper. Its Attack stats are moderately good, in my opinion. I rarely use Azelf in Battle Tower, but I use it quite often against my friends. Choice Scarf to make sure I get the first attack with Zen Headbutt or Fire Punch. I'll use Explosion if I feel that I'm stuck in a corner. The expression on people's faces after seeing an Azelf explode is priceless and effective. And I'll use U-Turn when I feel like I can do a hit and run knowing that Azelf will be useful later. Downfall, like my dislikes to most scarves, I'm stuck with one attack until I switch out and its Defense isn't that great to go against some OU.

Stroller With Baby Falls Underneath Moving Train

Wooooooooooooooow! Besides the fact that she should have been more careful of watching her baby... how would YOU react if it was your baby?

I wish life was a lot simpler

I had a great day today! I did awesome on my two midterms, got my homework done, replied to most of my emails, played Pokémon Platinum for a bit... than I ran into this on YouTube. Ugh... ruined my momentum.

Seriously?! Who can read that? /angry

Anyway, I had a great week. I spent A LOT studying. When I had a chance I got to watch Paranormal Activity, spent time with the girlfriend, and helped out Rhythm Inc with there competition last Saturday. I've been doing a bunch of emails about my upcoming event, The Mixtape, and so far I feel like the pace could go much faster. We'll see how it goes.

Voted Sexiest Couple of the Week

Rhythm Inc had a Super Mario theme for their competition and won 1st! Congrats!

Watching Paranormal Activity with Rhythm Inc. Ugh... I had FPS Sickness (motion sickness) during the beginning of the film. The movie slowly became steady near the end which is the best part of any movie anyway.

OLED Will F–k You Up Son

Heard of OLED (organic light-emitting diode)technology? It’s used in a few cell phones and TVs, it’s pretty much the future of electronics. Screw flat panel plasmas, OLED has significant advantages over LCDs like no back light, clearer picture quality, more efficient, thinner, and did I mention it’s flexible? Yea it’s the shit, and all the companies like Sony, Samsung, and Toshiba are coming up with ways to use the technology. The problem is that the technology is extremely expensive, for example a OLED TV sets would cost 10 times as much as equivalent LCD or plasma HDTVs. So were years away from seeing this in our daily lives but recently Sony came out with this video to show you the possibilities. Check it out after the jump

Current Video Project

Here's a personal project I'm working on. This one is for my parents. They had their 25th Wedding Anniversary in January and I'm putting together a HUGE slide show for them. So many pictures to look through! wow...

I made this one to show them an example of what their slide show can look like. They seemed to like it, but of course they'll want changes in it. But I'd like to share with you guys the demo I made for them.

The music is by Next Phaze called "Number One" and the photos are by Joseph Ontiveros Jr. Click on the link to check out the video! Feel free to comment.

***Warning: For some odd reason the demo will take up your whole window. I'm currently working on that problem.

The Mixtape FAQ and More

Hope you guys like the teaser I made for the event. If you haven't checked it out yet: The Mixtape Teaser 1! Please Subscribe, Rate, Comment...

A common question I'm getting at the moment is "Where can my team registered for the dance competition?"

I will have registration forms finalized by October 1st, 2009. All the info on stage size, rules, and schedules will be there. Email or leave a comment with your contact info and you'll receive registration forms as soon as they're available.

Yesterday I had the honors of helping judge Rhythm Inc Auditions. Congrats to those who auditioned. It takes guts. Looking around during the auditions, I could see the stress a lot of the people trying out for the team were going through. Check out the team, Rhythm Inc and show some love. Also, if you do the Twitter thing, keep updated on their upcoming events and also they'll be having High School Auditions very soon: Rhythm Inc's Twitter.

I've had a busy week with a lot of help from my girlfriend. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have made it through without her help. Or at least not get all the work done and hours I did for my Radio and Television courses for school. One of those moments where you hope you didn't take up too much of their time. We're both have busy schedules ahead of us, but it's nice to be able to see her even if it's doing homework, video projects, and website updates in the media room on our four months.

I got a nice schedule ahead of me. My upcoming weekend includes: World of Dance, a baby shower, a Christening (woot, I'm a Godfather), and DJing Stockton's H.S. Picnic After Party put together by Kilusan.

Yesterday I had a good time. I had to go to Fremont to pick up a few things from my old house. While there I visited a few old friends with the little time I had there. It was nice to have my girlfriend around to keep me company on the trip. We were hoping to hang out with one of her friends from her hometown, John aka Farmer, but our schedule prevented that from happening in the Bay Area. She had to be back in Stockton for Rhythm Inc Auditions.

Farmer was able to make it to Stockton and we got to spend the rest of the night with him and the Rhythm Inc family at my girlfriend's place. The night was filled with joking around, food, and showing Farmer how amazing my gf and I are on Puzzle Fighter and Marvel Vs Capcom skills. I trained my girlfriend very well at Puzzle Fighter. Ready for a challenge? Add her on Xbox Live: LiddoC. And don't forget to add me: Evo Adobo.

Happy gaming!

It's not the GLP Part 2 vid...

I'm still working on many other projects, so the GLP Part 2 video go delayed. Until than, watch my friends and old room mates make a fool of themselves eating a Burritozilla! It's a bit sloppy, but it was a personal video I put together for Hidalgo of ASC. Enjoy!

Lets Talk!

Life has been feeling off lately. It's a bit hard to explain, but it's that gut feeling where you wish you could step up to a situation yet can't figure out how.

Have you ever told yourself, "That's what I want to do." You make ALL the arrangements, go balls-out to make sure you have the supplies needed, and told all your friends and family about how excited you are about wanting to accomplish this goal! Than you don't finish what you've started.

What stopped you? Or if you don't believe you've been stopped, why haven't you accomplished that goal yet? I'm not specifically talking about Life-Long Goals. These goals can be small too, such as diets, budgeting, party, or gathering of friends.

Personally, I'm not saying I haven't reached my goals. Like most of you, I'm still walking down the streets my parent's have paved their way for me. I just happened to stop and smell the roses. But I have also made some mile stones along the way.

I'm slowly seeing why my parent's didn't think my life in the Bay Area wasn't for me. I completely and utterly miss living on my own. My girlfriend has seen first hand the closeness I have with my friends and coworkers. It was the good life! I would seriously trade almost anything in the world to be back there. We'd party EVERY night, drive to other cities whenever we pleased, constantly eat out, meet new people... But that's a life I'm going to have to leave behind.

Somewhat, I'm very happy to have moved back to my hometown. My parent's helping support me financially, old friends catching up with how their lives have been, I'm a Godfather now, and I have a great, playful, energetic, and understanding girlfriend. That's a life I'm going to have. And so far, I'm not regretting anything anymore.

As I started this blog, there is this gut feeling where I wish I could step up. Oddly enough I don't know what situation my gut is telling me about. From what I've analyzed, I got it easy.

Off subject now! Here's what's on my mind...

Work-Out Talk:
I rode my bicycle 12 mile bike ride and did most of the
300 Spartan Workout Training 1, which you can find on YouTube. It intense!

30 Reps of Jump Squats
30 Reps of Staggered Pushups
30 Reps of Alternating Split Jumps
30 Reps of Explosive Pushups
30 Reps of Prison Squats
30 Reps of Hindu Pushups
30 Reps of Kneeling Band Rows
30 Reps of Burpees
30 Reps of Pull Ups
30 Reps of Double Crunchs

-Total of 300 Reps-

I can already tell I'm going to be sore in the morning. If you're just starting to get back into exercising and looking for a great workout, I highly recommend this.

Pokémon Platinum Talk: I don't really play Pokémon that much anymore, but I was doing Battle Frontier's Battle Hall. I needed 50 consecutive wins to get an "Achievement." I won 49 in a row and lost the 50th battle. Epic Fail. I would have rather lost my 48th battle than the 49th. Almost tasted victory! Instead got bitch slapped in the face by a Dusknoir. I don't even know what a Dusknoir is!

Can't go off without talking about the girlfriend. With the hard times and transitioning going on at the moment, it's nice to have someone to share everything with. The other day after my gig, I brought her a bag of lumpia to her meeting. Romantic, right? Anyway, it's seriously the least I can do. She pays for my lunch almost everyday I see her. Quickest way to a man's heart. haha! Today we ate at Siamese Street Thai Restaurant which is down the street from her school. It's the one of the few times where we actually sat down in a restaurant for a meal. Literally one of the few times! The three months we've been together we've only eaten at four or five sit down restaurants.

Recently I've been introduced to a lot of her friends. And they're all seriously cool: her roommates, her dance team, and her Xi Chi family (something like that. Not too familiar with the Greeks). Each group of her friends always just have something to say and it's easy to keep a conversation with them. Hopefully they don't think I talk too much. :-P So far, I think I've made a great impression.

I see the room mate and her co-workers more often. We have some funny chats about Disney than somehow talk about Physics. That's how college students talk. haha! Brings me back to when I was living with room mates in the bay. Fun times! Best part... jumping out of no where and scaring the crap out of everyone. woot! Good times... So, what crazy pranks have you pulled on your room mates?

Also, I brought my bo to San Jose and San Francisco a few weeks back. Totally had fun and that deserves a blog of it's own.

And that's how the cookie crumbles....

(-_-) I Apologize (-_-)

Sorry for the lack of blogs. When you get to my age, remembering things like passwords becomes a World of Warcraft Quest! "Yay! New quest!" /woot

Serious business, is it my eyes or are trying to recover your passwords becoming a nuisance? Whatever these things are called are becoming harder and harder. I forget what these things are called but geez... is it me or was this a tough one???

What the hell?! Can you even read that? Annoying lil' thing... anyway, obviously I got my password settled and the rest is history.

My mom just got back from the hospital last week from pneumonia. She was only suppose to stay in the hospital for two days, but she instead the hospital had her stay for a week. After a chest x-ray, results showed that the infection went from one lung when first diagnosed to the both lungs. It was definitely a family scare and I'm glad she's at home resting. Unfortunately, she's been forced into one month leave for recovery and only one weeks worth of pay. As if this recession wasn't hard enough on the family, my dad is the only current paid employee. I've just started school last week too, so I'm working on paying the bills for that.

(o.0) Future Radio and Television Broadcasts??? (o.0)

NOW for the opposite of sad and depressing news... meaning less sad and less depressing... I'm working on many many future projects; both audio and video broadcasts.

Audio Broadcasting: I'll be working on projects related to AM/FM radio. I'm actually in the works with trying to work with Stockton, Ca's 97.7 KWIN FM & 1280 KWSX AM. I'll be working on ON AIR projects and also administration projects.

Video Broadcasting: A few lucky classmates (unfortunately I'm not one of the lucky ones) have had the privilege of getting hired at KCRA 3, ESPN, and Fox Network! My minimal goal is to be able to work for a major network regardless of being news broadcasting or entertainment. My ultimate goal would to be a host of an entertainment show like Mario Lopez, Olivia Munn, etc.

If you're in the Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto area you most likely know about KCRA 3 News. One of my classmates after only being in the Radio Television Broadcasting courses a semester has a job as a newscaster! Check her out:

If you're interested in lending a hand or any ideas on a radio or video broadcast, email me at:

(^_^) Current Projects (^_^)

I'm currently working on the continuation of the Gabe/Leejay/Passion video that I previously uploaded. I'll be posting that "GLP (Gabe LeeJay Passion) @SJSU Part 2" by August 30th, 2009.

As far as DJ Frankie James goes, I'm booked EVERY Saturday from August 22nd til October 3rd. Thank everyone for your support. If you're interesting in a very experienced sound management team, let me know or hit up

Creative Sounds is my sound group and Adobo Street Connection is my promotion/club/video group. SPEAKING OF CLUBS... Hit this up when you can:

Adobo Street Connection is one of the host, so if you're in the Stockton area August 29th I can get you on guest list and entry for FREE. Email your guest list to and title it "One Night Only Guest List." I have a Cotillion to DJ before heading to Chitivas, so I'll personally be late for this event.

(>^_^)> Highlight of my Current <(^_^<)

So after four years of being single... yes, the rumors are true. I have tripped and stumbled into this unfamiliar vortex as Facebook calls... "in a relationship." It's been three months and she's from Westminster, Ca. She got me with a walk on Huntington Beach. Lovely place if you have not yet to visit SoCal.

We are definitely one of those opposites, but not so opposite couples. I don't want to get into details at this moment, BUT expect blogs about her. I will admit it's almost like a "can't eat, can't sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, World Series kind of stuff, right?"

Check her out! She looks so happy to be with me... haha! Anyway, she does a lot of events and projects like I do. Look her up!

Accidental Fast Food Cup Collection

I should start throwing away cups after bringing them into my room, even though it has evolved into a pretty cool collection next to my window! haha! Maybe evolved shouldn't be the word to use in this context. These cups have been sitting there for a while. *shivers* Now I'm gonna throw them away. I just wanted to share my moment of unnecessary-spontaneous-enjoyment in my life. As you can see, I don't stick with one type of food... I go international! From Mexican, to Filipino, to good ol' American! num num num num... Gosh, I need to an apple.

(from left to right: Chipotle, El Pollo Loco, Sonics, Jollibee, Jack In The Box, Carl's Jr.. Never heard of some of them? Wiki it! Or like Olivia Munn.)

San Rafael Twilight

(WARNING: San Rafael Twilight has NOTHING to do with the Twilight movie. If you clicked here in hope of Robert Pattinson pictures, you've set yourself up for disappointed. But please, don't let this discourage you. Cause Robert Pattinson reads my blogs. He told me himself)

Yesterday I had the privilege to work and provide the sounds for NCNCA's San Rafael Twilight. I very familiar with this organization cause I've raced the Best of the West and was the NCNCA Track Cycling Junior Division Champion. Oh yeah! NCNCA stands for Northern California Nevada Cycling Association. This is my second trip to San Rafael, Ca EVER! My first time was when I brought my Adobo Street Connection Street Team while I MC'd at Dominican University's Kapamilya 1st Annual Showcase.

My dad and I left the house around 8am and got to our destination around 9:30am. Typically, criterium races are held in the early morning. What makes Twilight so different is that it's held from the afternoon til night and it makes it difficult for racers to see further during turns.

Since we got there so early, my dad and I went on an adventure around San Rafael. Ate at Quizno's and checked out Performance Cycling. There sure are A LOT of Thai food places. I think I counted five Thai Resturaunts on one street.

Oh! And this one guy with the ugliest teeth yelled at us saying, "This guy's an asshole!" My dad told me to give him the finger as we drove off. I didn't do it, but I did laugh at the guy and smiled. Sometimes smiles are worse cause it could mean I have something devious planned. *Evil grin...* Iunno what made this guy pissed off. All that we did was let him cross the street while his crosswalk light was red! Give a guy with ugly teeth some good grace and we get called an asshole. PFTH!

So after we ate and what-not, we went back to where we needed to set up around 12pm. The NCNCA had a whole part of the city blocked off for the race. It was pretty cool watching cops blockade the street while we set up.

As we were setting up, I noticed this pizza place across the street. Their delivery people were literally walking in and out like nobodies business. I thought to myself, "This place MUST be crackin!" After all the technically difficulties and the event starting, I went there on my break.

As I walked in, I noticed I was the only Asian in the facility and all the desks employees (literally all) were buff Italian looking guys. Seriously, I thought it was owned by the mafia or something. I asked for a menu and ordered a Trentino.

Mozzarella, Parmesan, Crumbled Feta, Baby Spinach, Red Onions, Pancetta (Italian Bacon), Herbs, and Meyer Lemon Olive Oil (No Tomato Sauce) (recipe source:

Their service and food is awesome and I do recommend going there! I asked about their garlic bread and three of these buff guys said "You should get it!" Out of intimidation, fear, and disregarding the total amount of my order, I asked for garlic bread. Those were thumbs up as well. Amici's FTW!

I think THE best race that happened was the 5-Years old and under Children race. Literally watching 20-30 babies determined, confused, or just plain laughing from happiness racing across the short stretch of the biking course would make anyone happy. Especially their parents/guardian helping them down the race way.

I tried my best to get as many kids on bikes in one shot

Doess this even count as a bike?! His parents must be so proud.

DUDE! This lil' guy was totally focused!

I got more pictures of the children race which I'll probably post up later. Anyway, I walked around the racing area and noticed some interesting sculptures. One was made of bicycle rims! I thought that was pretty awesome and the perfect sculpture for this event. I thought this was very abstract and the structure was very unique.

I also ran into what looked like an independent films theater! I love movies! If you ask anyone, I could literally waste a day away just sitting in front of my computer, Xbox 360, DVD Player, Netflix, CrunchRoll... yeah... that's my major in college as well.

Anyway, my blog just turned into a photo gallery. For those who actually read to the end of this blog, YOU ARE AWESOME! I'll make you adobo or something. :D There's so much to show you guys, but as much as I'd love to continue talking about my 14 hour work day, I've gotta study for my Physics and Psychology summer class. /cheer *sarcasm*
